An opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated individual to train as an Apprentice Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. The successful candidate will study for a University Professional Certificate in Psychological Practice, as part of the Psychological Wellbeing Practice Level 6 Apprenticeship, which is a cornerstone qualification for working in NHS Talking Therapies services. The training is delivered jointly between Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT), and Staffordshire University.
In this role, the post holder will be required to attend at least 1 day teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study, and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week, from our base at the Whiteheath Medical Centre. Teaching will be at University of Staffordshire (Stoke Campus) and will commence in late September 2024. The post holder will be offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The post holder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.

GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent) Relevant professional experience in caring for people, particularly those experiencing mental health difficulties which can be through paid, voluntary or through expertise gained by experience of mental health difficulties Knowledge and skills of working with a diverse client group Excellent oral and written communication skills Essential time management skills Ability to use IT Systems Able to use own initiative Effective administration skills (accurate record keeping) Ability to respond to and manage change Able to attend clinical sessions as required for the completion of the PWP Apprenticeship Able to manage the academic requirements of the training Organisation and time management skills Promotes recovery and social inclusion Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment Ability to demonstrate compassion to all service users, self and staff Ability to transport self around the Sandwell borough in a timely fashion in order to meet the post requirements Able to attend university beginning September/October 2023
