We are looking for a keen and motivated nurse to become the Deputy Matron for Ambulatory care, covering the Ambulatory Assessment unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital and Rowan Ambulatory Unit at the Horton hospital. Main duties of the job

As a Deputy Matron, you will work with the Matron, Clinical Lead and among a talented MDT to oversee the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and excellent patient experiences. The new role is required to provide leadership to the integration of the teams and the evaluation of this service, supporting the strategic vision and conveying this to the team. It will also provide on site operational oversite, particularly during times of extreme operational pressures. The post holder would be able to attend operational meetings, liaise with the medical and nursing teams, and network with strategic partners, for example, the adjacent Surgical Ambulatory Unit.

The Deputy Matron role would also support silver and ops in identifying early management of patients to be admitted to the wards, or those where escalation is required to specialist teams or diagnostics, as early as possible, thus reducing patient deterioration and improving flow in the dept. In the event that the unit is used for escalation capacity the Deputy Matron would be pivotal in assessing the patients, ensuring timely reviews and establishing processes in order for them to be managed efficiently
