We are delighted to invite applications for a 10PA substantive community pediatric consultant post.

The successful candidates will join a highly motivated, consultant and SAS led team delivering high quality paediatric care to Tower Hamlets & East London.

The community paediatric team are based at Mile End Hospital in Mile End with some outreach clinics in local special schools. The team serve the local population of 69,000 children within excess of 8000 having SEND or additional needs.

The community paediatric department are welcoming and friendly. Our multidisciplinary clinical team includes nurses, play specialists, clinical practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and allied health professionals working alongside doctors in training, clinical fellows, associate specialists & consultants. All of our team are dedicated to the highest standards in clinical care and patient safety

Main duties of the job

The community paediatric duties of the posts include participation in the community paediatric clinic services including Child Protection (CP) Medical clinics, Neuro-Developmental Clinics (NDC), Autistic Spectrum Disorder Assessment Service (ASDAS) clinics, Special Educational Needs (SEN) clinics, Looked After Children (LAC) clinics & Special School clinics. The specific clinics the post-holders undertake will be decided dependent on the skill set of the successful applicants, however all post holders will be expected to participate in the CP medical clinic rota.

Candidates must hold full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.

Candidates must be on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of successful completion of UK paediatric training at the time of interview.

MBBS or equivalent degree MRCPCH or equivalent On GMC Specialist Register in Paediatrics or Community Paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT

Desirable criteria

Higher degree e.g. Msc, MD Subspeciality recognition in community paediatrics and/or neurodisability

Experience
