About Becketwell Arena
Becketwell Live is a cutting-edge events complex with a capacity of up to 3,500 people. It is designed to host a variety of events, including large corporate conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, major touring concerts, stand-up comedy, family performances, and sporting events. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a brand-new venue from the ground up.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to oversee and deliver professional and financially successful events at Becketwell Arena in Derby.

Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for both administrative and practical event preparations. Provide venue information, advice, and manage client relationships throughout the event planning process to event delivery. Coordinate with all internal venue departments to ensure seamless event operations while maintaining high venue standards. Act as Duty Manager on a rotating basis, overseeing front-of-house aspects, liaising with event promoters/organizers, and ensuring smooth event execution from start to finish. Arrange and schedule event staff efficiently and in compliance with business requirements. Always ensure public safety and adherence to relevant legislation and licensing conditions. Maintain accurate administration and recharge of front-of-house resources, consulting effectively with relevant internal staff. Jointly manage casual hosting, security, and hospitality staff as a key line manager. Serve as a key holder for the building and assist in emergency evacuations when necessary. Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations and pursue necessary training for specialized areas. Assist other departments in sourcing venue-based activities and events. Support the Head of Conference and Sales in event planning and execution as needed. Conduct team briefings and debriefs as required.Key Skills and Experience
Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role. Experience in an events-based environment, ideally within a multi-purpose venue with a diverse program. Familiarity with local and regional entertainment offerings and venues. Ability to work successfully under strict deadlines, effectively prioritizing tasks. Strong people management skills with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities. Proficiency in AutoCAD for interpreting and creating event plans. Effective time management skills for self and team. Outstanding organizational and planning capabilities, adaptable under pressure. Ability to achieve best practices within competitive commercial parameters. Experience managing statutory requirements related to events. Skill in working collaboratively with staff at all organizational levels. Proven IT proficiency, including MS Office packages. High awareness of Health and Safety issues pertaining to venue and event management. Experience planning, designing, and managing various event types, including live music, comedy, theatre, and conferences/corporate events.Join Becketwell Arena and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional events while ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction.
