A Primary School in Beacontree is looking for a Full-time LSA.

We are seeking compassionate and experienced individuals to join our team as Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) at a lovely primary school. The successful candidates will work closely with students with diverse learning needs, providing personalised support and assistance to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role requires a genuine passion for working with vulnerable individuals and a commitment to fostering inclusively and empowerment in the classroom.

Responsibilities :

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with autism, learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, and other complex needs. Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering differentiated instruction and adapting learning activities to meet the individualised needs and abilities of students. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and self-esteem among students with special needs. Implement personalised learning plans and interventions, as directed by the classroom teacher and special education team, to support student’s academic and developmental progress. Support students with personal care and daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and sensory regulation, as needed. Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviours and promote positive reinforcement and self-regulation. Collaborate with the classroom teacher, special education team, therapists, and other school staff to develop and implement individualised support strategies and interventions for students.

Skills:

Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals is required. Experience in a school setting is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, and behavioural challenges, and familiarity with relevant interventions and support strategies. Compassion, empathy, and patience in working with vulnerable individuals and an understanding of the diverse needs and abilities of students with special needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders. Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in responding to the changing needs and demands of students with special needs and the school environment
