We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for **Lead Learning Support Practitioner**.
You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £27,590 - £29,761 pa inc London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.
**The Lead Learning Support Practitioner role**:
To work closely with LSP Coordinators in ensuring efficient day to day deployment of Learning Support Practitioners, providing LSP cover where required, delivering dyslexia support for students and undertaking EHCP Annual Reviews.
**Key Responsibilities of our ROLE**:
- Provide learning support for students in class as needed and 1:1 support for students with dyslexia/dyscalculia
- develop knowledge of the particular needs of the students and to seek advice from the SENDCOs, class teacher and outside agencies as required
- To aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and provide modified materials as required e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc.
- To make or modify resources as suggested and advised by the SENCo, Educational Psychologist or other outside agencies
- To attend in service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post in order to keep up to date with developments in working with students with additional learning support needs.
**Our ideal Lead Learning Support Practitioner would have the following qualifications, skills and experience**:
- Level 2 English or Maths (or equivalent)
- SpLD qualification
- Comprehensive knowledge of specialist support and how to maximise the impact of it to improve student retention and attainment
- Demonstratable experience of assessing and supporting students with additional learning support needs
- Experience and understanding of the issues related to Additional Learning Support
- Ability to recognize additional needs indicators in students and to act promptly upon them
