Washington, United Kingdom Northumbrian Water Full time

About the role

We’ve an amazing opportunity to join us as a Network Performance Technician known internally as a Technical Support Advisor 2 in the Wastewater Performance Team. You will support us in maximising our Environmental Performance ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of the Sewerage Network and Wastewater Treatment Process.

You’ll be managing alarms and working closely with operational crews to ensure high levels of operability for the Sewer Level Monitoring / Event Duration Monitoring assets. This role directly supports our work to reduce pollution incidents.

The role will require you to have first class data analysis and reporting skills to support our team leaders and managers to make effective business decisions, identify areas for improvement and maximise sewerage network performance.

You’ll be managing maintenance requests and alarms to ensure that maintenance of our SLM / EDM assets is carried out in a timely manner and that crew resource is used efficiently. Good communication with colleagues in Technical Support and Wastewater Production will enhance the attainment of operability.

You will need to produce timely and accurate reporting and be able to present the data to various business stakeholders.

About you

We’re looking for the successful candidate to have proven experience of excellent customer service skills and of working in a customer focussed environment, along with experience of Quality Environmental and Health and Safety procedures and ideally knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g. customer, financial, H&S, quality, environmental).

You’ll have proven experience of being a strong team player, involving and supporting others in problem-solving and decision-making processes, along with effective relationship management and networking ability (across all areas of the business and with external stakeholders).

We’re looking for you to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with highly developed literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills. You will be motivated to embrace innovation and to look for and highlight potential improvements in ways of working.

You’ll also be qualified to BTEC or equivalent in a science, engineering, construction or environmental related discipline or equivalent with proven work experience.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.

Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.

Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked

Please note interviews will be held 14th and 17th June
