The main purpose of the role will be to lead and manage the development of S&C renewals in the NW&C region, working closely with the Capital Delivery (Client) track development team, the route engineering teams and the Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) delivery team to ensure that the specification, access, commercial allowances, haulage requirements and resources are managed within the mandated Delivering Work Within Possessions (DWWP) timescales.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will:

Have day-to-day line management of the S&C track development engineers and supervisors; Support and influence the CD Track development to ensure suitable access and haulage is ringfenced through Phase 1 - 2 of PACE framework; Support the Senior asset engineer (track) to specify scope of renewal; Be responsible for the planning, publication, and issue of handover packs at T-22 to track delivery team - to include: possession plans, bar charts, staging diagrams, land access bookings, haulage/OTM bookings in NROL, resource profile, bottom-up estimates, strategic plant bookings; Attend Stage gate/DWWP meetings as required.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone with the following:

Experience in S&C track renewals within a delivery management role; Strong knowledge of S&C track systems & NWR Group standards; Strong leadership and communication ethos; IT proficiency in Excel, Power point and MS Project applications; Competency in the use of NROL and PPS; Management and staff development skills; Commercial management skills; Educated to HNC in an engineering or management discipline; Knowledge of the North West, Central and West Coast South routes is advantageous.
