Payroll Administrator – 6 Months FTC

Location: Cardiff Salary: FTE £28k pro rota £16,800 Closes: 15/10/2024 Hours: 22.5

As a Payroll Administrator at Iris Care Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and pensions for our employees. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, preparing reports, and addressing any payroll-related inquiries or issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll procedures, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

Process payroll for employees accurately and on time using SAGE payroll software Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments based on hours worked, leave taken, and other relevant factors. Perform administrative pension tasks including uploading of contributions to providers and maintaining records of employee opt out, postponements and auto enrolment. Maintain accurate records of employee information, including personal details, tax withholding, and benefits. Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other relevant parties as needed. Address payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and benefits. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues. Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency. Assist in the implementation of payroll-related policies, procedures, and systems.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a payroll administrator or similar role.
2. Knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
3. Proficiency in payroll software, ideally SAGE, and MS Office, especially Excel.
4. Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. High degree of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle confidential information.
8. Experience in pensions administration ideally knowledge of Nest or similar schemes.
9. Certification in payroll processing (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) would be an advantage but not required.
