London, United Kingdom University College London Hospitals Full time

Job overview

The Neuroradiology department is seeking 5 experienced diagnostic radiographers as part of rapid expansion of the MRI service. The post-holder will rotate between the main NHNN hospital site, as well as a brand-new purpose-built outpatient MRI facility on Grays Inn Road starting in 2025 as a highly specialised Neuroradiographer.

NHNN @ Grays Inn Road is a key strategic development for UCLH in 2025, providing an expansion of MRI capacity (four additional MRI scanners for the NHS and 1 for research) and a new outpatient facility. This is a co-located facility within the University’s flagship Dementia Research Institute, bringing together world class research, academia and healthcare across UCL and UCLH.

At NHNN, we believe in high-quality clinical training and professional development of our highly specialist radiographers. Every neuroradiographer regardless of how much experience they have in MRI, neuro, or cross-sectional imaging is supported through a robust training programme delivered by Clinical Superintendents and a dedicated Neuroradiography Practice, Education & Development Superintendent. We are committed to providing a high-quality training experience and are passionate about developing and growing our workforce to be fit for the future.

CLOSING EARLY DISCLAIMER:

This vacancy may close before the current listed closing date. You are advised not to delay submitting your completed application.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as a specialist diagnostic practitioner in MRI and be responsible for a variable caseload of patients, and mentorship of more junior radiographers. Patients will present with a full range of complex conditions and the post holder will be responsible for carrying out the appropriate diagnostic procedures to support the diagnosis of complex conditions.

There will also be the opportunity to contribute to research radiography, working with a multidisciplinary team of scientific and clinical researchers based in the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. This is a fantastic opportunity for training in a wide variety of MRI techniques, including advanced methods such as DWI, MTI, spectroscopy, sodium imaging and fMRI applied not only in the brain, but also in the CNS and PNS.
