Location: Northamptonshire positions available in Northampton and Rushden.

Contract/Hours: Casual

A bit about the role

We are currently looking for a Residential Support Workers to help us maintain providing excellent support to Children and young people aged 5 – 18.

As Residential worker you will Provide a flexible responsive, high quality and person-centred care, to children and young people to enable them to access and participate in a range of stimulating and safe activities and experiences within the home.

As you can imagine, there's no job too small at Action for Children. Everyone contributes something special that helps us work towards our vision and our Residential Support Workers play a big part in this.

About the service

The Children's Short Break centres are residential respite homes for children with disabilities who have a diagnosis of autism, complex health needs and/or complex behaviour, up to the age of 18.

The centre provides a structured environment and nursing care to give parents and carers the opportunity to ‘recharge their batteries' in the knowledge that their child is in a safe and stimulating environment.

our priority is putting children first; the children who use short break homes have very complex needs and sometimes life limiting disabilities.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing riskCo-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reportsAttendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality serviceSupervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and proceduresLead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements.Build and maintain relationships (within agreed professional boundaries) with children, young people, and their families through the provision of emotional, social, and practical interventions and support.Ensure that the views and needs of children/young people are heard and responded to by promoting communication and participation

Experience of leading Shifts in a Care settingLevel 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent)Experience and training in safeguardingAn innovative and creative approach to problem solvingExperience of developing tailored care plansThe ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
