About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

Role Overview

The Electrical Construction Workpack Engineer is a key member of the construction team responsible for ensuring the successful drafting of electrical engineering activities within the construction workpacks. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems. The individual will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that electrical components of construction workpacks are designed, executed, and delivered according to project specifications and industry standards.

What you'll be doing

s an Electrical Construction Workpack Engineer , you will have the following responsibilities,

Collaborate with project managers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed
construction workpacks for electrical systems. Ensure Workpacks encompass comprehensive information, including drawings,
specifications, procedures, plans, permits and method statements necessary for the successful execution of electrical construction. Provide technical expertise in electrical engineering to the construction team on
issues arising from the Construction Workpack. Review and approve electrical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes,
standards, and project specifications ensuring sufficient detail to draft the
Construction Workpack documents. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the integration of electrical systems within the overall project scope to support Construction Workpack Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of electrical construction documents. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and other relevant industry standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to electrical construction work pack activities. Report issues/concerns with upcoming tasks when they arise to the Work Pack Lead Development of documents to support the delivery of the Construction Workpacks Create and issue Construction Workpack LAD documentation Provide weekly information / reports.

Who we're looking for

Do you have?

Relevant degree in construction or electrical engineering, HNC in relevant construction discipline or electrical engineering with relevant experience. Demonstrable experience in drafting Construction Work packs Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and standards. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards. Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher) Major Projects Experience desired. Confident use of Navisworks Confident use of IT and MS Office Software
