About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you'll be doing
As an Electrical Construction Engineer , you will have the following responsibilities,
Support the Building Lead in the day-to-day construction planning, engineering and worksprogression of your specific allocated building(s). Accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to
support the MEH Alliance construction activities. Define boundary of scope of works Engage with the constructability of the construction of your specified building(s) using the
building engineers as required to facilitate sequencing of installation that maximises Manage project change within your specified building(s) ensuring that the project change
process is adhered to. This will include construction documentation as well as scope
change aspects of the contract in coordination with the Building Lead Ensuring documents are compliant and up to date with latest works information and other MEH Alliance documentation. Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures. Manage and maintain Procon reporting data for the building(s) allocated to you. Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant
HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run the support
Who we're looking for
Do you have?
Relevant degree in construction or electrical engineering, HNC in relevant construction discipline or electrical engineering with relevant experience. IOSH Managing Safely is preferred. Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher) CCNSG Safety Passport Major Projects Experience desired.
