An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school in Hammersmith is seeking a dedicated and passionate SENCO to join its team on a permanent basis from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified individual to lead the school's Special Educational Needs provision and make a significant impact on the lives of its pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the school's SEN provision, ensuring all pupils with special educational needs receive the support they need.
- Lead and manage a team of support staff, including teaching assistants, ensuring the highest quality of support is provided to pupils.
- Work closely with teachers to develop and implement strategies for inclusive learning.
- Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for SEN pupils.
- Monitor and track the progress of SEN pupils, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
- Stay updated with changes in SEN legislation and ensure the school is compliant with statutory requirements.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete this qualification within three years of appointment.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a school setting, with a proven track record of supporting pupils with special educational needs.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing support staff.
- In-depth knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
