Sales Engineer

Thermon UK is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. Based in our UK office with approximately 20 colleagues across various departments, the Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in expanding and strengthening our business within the designated sales region - East England and East + Central Schotland. This position requires extensive customer interaction and site visits, making it ideal for a proactive and personable candidate.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new customers, developing key accounts, and maintaining long-term relationships built on mutual trust. Your ability to understand customer needs and offer tailored technical solutions will be crucial in driving sales and enhancing customer satisfaction. You will also be tasked with providing competitor analysis, monitoring market trends, and preparing regular sales reports for management.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Acquisition & Development: Identify and secure new customers and key accounts within the region.
- Market Analysis: Conduct customer analysis to uncover potential Heat Tracing and Process Heating opportunities.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement plans to maximize sales of Thermon's products, systems, and services.
- Technical Solutions: Identify and communicate technical solutions within Thermon's capabilities to customers.
- Customer Relationship Management: Foster and maintain long-term relationships with customers based on mutual trust.
- Negotiation & Quotation: Conduct negotiations, assist in preparing quotations, and help draft contracts.
- Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports for management and provide constructive feedback.
- Sales & Margin Responsibility: Oversee sales and margins within the assigned region.
- Opportunity Follow-Up: Follow up on opportunities and quotations, ensuring all activities are logged in CRM.
- Educational Background: Graduate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, commerce, or equivalent experience in a commercial background.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in a technical and/or industrial sector, with a preference for candidates with experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, and Renewables sectors.
- Technical Environment: Previous experience in a technical environment is preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
