Role and Responsibilities: As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with specific identified needs. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing personalised learning support to students with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
- Assisting with personal care tasks, which may include feeding and toileting, to support students with specific needs (full training would be provided).
- Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teaching staff and the SEND coordinator.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student well-being and independence.
- Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of support strategies.
- Participating in relevant training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Candidate Requirements: We are looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who meets the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications: GCSE C grade or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Experience: Previous experience supporting students with SEND is highly desirable.
- Compassionate and Motivated: Demonstrates a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND and a commitment to their well-being and academic success.
- Personal Care: Willingness to potentially provide personal care, including feeding and toileting, as required.
- Team Player: Able to work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and parents/carers to provide holistic support to students.
- Adaptable and Patient: Demonstrate flexibility and patience in responding to the individual needs of students.
