About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), working closely with classroom teachers to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Support classroom teachers in managing student behavior and engagement, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote the social and emotional well-being of students, helping them to develop essential life skills and build positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of students at all times, maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Passion for helping students with SEND achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and the school.
