An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Orthopaedic Practitioner to join the Fracture clinic Plaster room team, at the RDUH Eastern site.

The post holder will be involved in the provision of specialist casting and post operative wound care, predominantly to Trauma & Orthopaedic patients. However the post holder will also engage in the delivery of a same day casting service to Plastics Trauma, Diabetic Podiatry patients, and ED MUA clinics when required.
The post holder will also be required to assist in the delivery of training and education to areas within the Trust who use Plaster of Paris, and to provide expert patient/carer/staff advice when a cast is applied.
We would also consider taking on a Trainee Orthopaedic Practitioner, to undertake significant self directed study to complete the BOA casting framework syllabus, in addition to working clinically within the Plaster room, following a 5 week assessment period at Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital. Unregistered staff will be uplifted to a Band 5 once the BOA has been successfully completed within the specified timeframe. The post holder will be required to successfully pass their BCC - in order to become an independent Orthopaedic Practitioner.
Working Pattern: hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 4-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 4. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 4 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 3-4 pay bandings ().
