Senior Healthcare Support Worker

Role Summary
The post holder may contribute to the assessment of care needs and the delivery of planned care under delegation and direction of the registered nurse or Nurse Associate. This will include recording and documenting physiological observations and changes to the patient’s clinical condition, ECG, supporting therapy and rehab practices and undertaking vena-puncture.

Successful candidates will be expected to practice in accordance of Trust standards and policies and to work within the boundaries of their role and individual competence. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to complete the CC3N National Competency Framework for Healthcare Support workers in an Adult Critical Care. Responsibility for stocks and stores is also a key component to this role.
The ICU can be a very stressful and emotive environment to work in, so compassion, and emotional intellect and maturity is a necessity for this role. Experience of working within the acute setting will be essential and beneficial to applicants for this role.
Working Pattern: hours per week. This post will be shift work, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
