Job summary

If you are a Band 6 OT looking for a jobwithin the Worcestershire Stroke Pathway, we have jobs available in both ourinpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Unit based at Evesham Hospital and within ourIntegrated Community Stroke Service which covers the county of Worcestershire. Weare passionate about improving the quality of life for Stroke Survivors.

We can be flexible on this offer in terms of eithera static or rotational post within either area, part-time/full-time and wouldlove to hear from Band 6 OTs with experience in stroke services. We cannegotiate the length of a rotation if interested in this.

As a trustwe offer a robust induction period and continue to promote opportunities fordevelopment through 1:1 clinical supervision sessions, peer working andin-service training. We have a well-established stroke pathway and perceive ouracute, inpatient and community stroke colleagues as one team, all striving forthe best quality of life for our stroke survivors and their families.

Main duties of the job

Day to day, the following applies to both inpatient strokeand community stroke. We can offer this as a static or rotating position. Youwill be undertaking comprehensive assessments of mild-moderate-severe strokepatients including those with multiple pathologies/co-morbidities, using specialistOT assessment tools to identify their personalised goals alongside the MDT. Youwill formulate individual programmes of rehabilitation using clinical reasoningand utilising a range of treatment skills, targeting realistic and measurable,patient-led goals. It is also expected that you will offer support andeducation to carers/families.

You will attend the weekly MDT in which the team willdiscuss the progress of patients and identify goals that are achieved andongoing. In the community team you will also participate in referral managementwhich will include the triaging of referrals, liaising with other health careprofessionals within the Trust/Acute Trust and surrounding borders andthird-party organisations.
