We are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Town Centre Manager to join our team. You will play a central role and ensuring that Stockton Town Centre is a clean, tidy and welcoming place for people to enjoy. You will contribute to the vibrant and diverse outdoor markets in Stockton, Billingham, and Thornaby. This a dynamic role that will suit an individual who loves to work outdoors, with an outgoing personality that thrives in the hustle and bustle of busy and atmospheric environments.

Key Responsibilities of the Role include:

Assist the Town Centre Manager in the coordination and management of operational activities across Stockton Town Centre. To lead on the operational audit inspections across Stockton Town Centre to ensure the Town Centre is attractive, clean and vibrant to all visitors. Collate and update the audit action tracker. Attend associated Town Centre group meetings, take minutes and develop action trackers from the meetings. Assist in the operational and strategic management of Stockton Borough Councils outdoor general markets at Stockton, Billingham, and Thornaby. You will be a focal point of contact for the effective communication and engagement with market traders and the public. You will design, produce, and monitor content on the two markets' social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. Develop plans and ideas to attract and recruit new market traders, engage with the community, and promote market activities. You will assist in planning and delivering market-associated events to enhance the market experience and attract a wider audience.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work a percentage of their working time away from the office, but this will fit around the delivery of the market service.

In return we offer an excellent total reward package, including: A competitive salary starting at £29,777 (pay award pending) Opportunities to train and learn with the support available for career progression. Flexible Working arrangements – working onsite at the three market towns of Stockton, Billingham and Thornaby, across Council offices in Billingham and Stockton and the ability to work some of your time from home. 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 with 5 years’ service.
