About the Role:

At Drax, we take our responsibilities to societyand the environment seriously. As Environmental Compliance Lead, you’ll play akey role in ensuring that Drax Generation assets continue to be a sector leaderin environmental compliance and performance.

This multi-faceted role will primarily supportthe environmental compliance activities at Drax Power Station. You’ll also providesupport to other Drax Generation sites including Cruachan, Galloway and LanarkPower Stations in Scotland.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Utilising internal and external audit programmes and performance indicators for continual improvement of the Environmental Management System
- Working with business stakeholders to identify environmental permitting requirements
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with the Environment Agency and other environmental regulators to support variations to the Drax Power Station environmental permits
- Developing and leading permitting strategies to enable commercial business optimisation
- Building and implementing business systems to collate, analyse data for internal and external statutory reporting and improvement studies
- Advising and guiding business strategy in relation to environmental regulatory developments and compliance
- Providing training to Drax colleagues on key environmental subject matter
- Providing representation on industry wide technical groups and discussions with Environment Agency and other regulators where relevant

This role is based at Drax Power Station with some flexibility for hybridworking. There will be some ad-hoc travel required to our Scottish GenerationAssets.

Who we’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll have anEnvironmental-focused degree or relevant environmental qualification such asNEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management or IEMA membership at Associate orPractitioner level.

This will be coupledwith experience and understanding of environmental management considerations fora large industrial setting including air emissions, discharges to water,discharges to land and waste management.

You’ll also need experiencewith environmental permitting, including a strong understanding ofEnvironmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) and Town and CountryPlanning (England) Order.

You’ll be able toprovide leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders inrelation to environmental developments and considerations within businessoperations. And you’ll need excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate with andinfluence stakeholders.

Additionally, you’lldemonstrate the ability to define, document, and analyse business processes anddata to identify trends and provide reports to enable change. Strong experiencewith Microsoft Excel, Power BI and/ or related business analysis tools isideal.
