Aboutthe role:

Asthe Head of Production your role will involve guiding the productselection and curation process. Youll be responsible for ensuringthat the best practices are followed and revenue is optimised.Youll work closely with Auction and Marketplace Managers as well asTeam Leaders to provide expert knowledge and guidance on productselection valuation and mix that is tailored to specific saleschannels. Your responsibilities will include training anddeveloping marketplace teams maintaining category guidelines andcontinually reviewing and optimising revenue performance byinterpreting and analysing collected data indetail.

  • Innovate usingdata programme Thoughtspot to establish more productive workpractices with all departments/categories speeding up listingprocesses thereby increasing revenue potential and maintaining anefficient stock flow through thebusiness.

Dayto Day Roles &Responsibilities:

  • BestPractice: Serve as the owner of best practicescollaborating with Auction and Marketplace Managers and theeCommerce Manager to develop and implement guidelines for the widermarketplaceteam.

  • ProductSelection Management: Manage Marketplace Managers onproduct selections and mix tailored to specific sales channelsensuring a balanced approach to productivity andquality.

  • Valuationand Product Knowledge: Impart excellent valuationand product knowledge to assist marketplace team members inselecting multiple vintage categories serving as the centralreference point for queries and questions.

  • Team Trainingand Development: Conduct training sessions formarketplace teams developing their knowledge and selection skillsets to improve revenues from product sorting and lots generated.L&D should involve external partners learning opportunitiesand inhousetraining.

  • PerformanceAlignment: As the business grows ensure closealignment to productivity and revenue targets by regularlyreviewing revenue performance by category and challengingselections and destinations to maximiserevenue.

  • CategoryGuide Maintenance: Contribute to and help maintainthe product categories as required further developing knowledge andselectionprocesses.

  • L&DResources Videos and PDFs: Departmental sharingparticularly with the CEC and Marketing to engender collaborativeworking relationships. It is essential to oversee certain resourcesto enable other business aspects to impact the Marketplacepositively.

Essentialskills andexperience:

  • Minimumof 5 years experience preferably in a managerial role within theauction industry or a relatedfield.

  • A proven track recordin the antiques industry ideally with previous experience workingin auction houses galleries museums appraisal firms or as a generaldealer. Experience handling vintage and antique items andtransactions is valuable as it demonstrates the ability toaccurately assess a diverse range ofitems.

  • Proficient IT skillswith strong analytical and research competency to accurately assessthe value of items. This includes the ability to conduct thoroughresearch on the provenance authenticity and market demands forvarious pieces.

  • Strongleadership skills with a proven ability to motivate develop andnurture a team.

  • Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills building rapport andestablishing trust with teams andcolleagues.

  • Demonstratedproficiency in financial management strategic planning anddecisionmaking.

  • Exceptionalorganisational skills and attention to detail with the ability toeffectively manage multiple tasks andpriorities.

  • Ethical conductand integrity with a commitment to upholding industry standards andethicalprinciples.
