Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Assistant Operations Manager is toprovide support to all Clinical Services personnel, key contracts and allpersonnel in the locality, acting as the first port of call for all queries andany issues which need resolving. With only unusual or complex issues being escalatedto the Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager is responsible for overall performanceof the locality Clinical Services team and contract delivery, analyzing performanceand providing feedback, guidance and encouragement in order to impact results.The Assistant Operations Manager will support the Operations manager in doingthis.

The Assistant Operations Manager will have delegated line management responsibility for ClinicalServices support staff in the Locality, working closely with and supportingLocality Leads.

TheAssistants Operations will have delegated responsibility for the service in theabsence of the Operations manager, as appropriate and within the standing financialinstructions for the organisation. With the support of the Clinical services Manager.

Job description

Job responsibilities

o Managing clinical services support staff in the locality. Ensure staff are supported appropriately toensure that the locality is effective, providing practical help in solving dayto day issues. With complex or unusual situations being escalated to the OperationsManagers

o Ensure staff follow all Standard operating proceduresand company policies, in a positive and supportive way

o Ensuring staff rostering and deployment is appropriateto contract delivery and organizational targets.

o Assist the Operations manager in controllingexpenditure and resources within tight budgets, feeding into the monthly updateson the performance management of projects. Ensure that necessary action is taken to achieve contract compliance

o Work with the locality team to support theimplementation of services, participating in associated activities as required

o Deal with sometimes conflicting priorities andpressures from all sides, balance these priorities and find appropriatesolutions

o Co-ordinate resources such as premises, equipment andsupplies

o Support the Operations manager and Clinical ServicesManager in service monitoring and reporting, delivery of service change andcontribute to continuous improvement activities and service innovation

o Support all Clinical Services contracts to ensure effective delivery across allcontracts, improving the quality and uptake at a local level in partnershipwith PHE, Health Protection teams and Commissioners.

o Lead on data retention in the locality and the use ofe-consent, SytemOne, the use of Paper consent and the scanning retention and disposal

o Deal with Human resources issues with the Support of theOperations manager and HR department and will include investigations as laid downin company policies.

o Generalhousekeeping of the office and management of deliveries and supplies to supportcontracts. Some manual handling may be required, in line with our Movingand Handling policy. Mandatory training on Manual Handling is required.

Qualifications

Essential

Management qualification or relevant experience. Educated to a minimum GCSE/GCE A level or equivalent. Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development and training.

Relevant degree or equivalent experience. Project Management qualification or relevant experience.
