We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Plating Technical Manager within our Technical Engineering Team.
In a nutshell you will be responsible for:
Providing technical leadership on plating for the manufacturing processes and commercial teams. You will need to be able to communicate technical aspects of the business with the senior management team, and convey technical information in a way that is easily understood.
As part of this role, you will develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and other interested parties to develop the business; you will also seek out and support opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you are already great at:
- Ownership of EHSS procedures and processes within your area of work.
- Provide technical leadership for the plating manufacturing process.
- Lead, coordinate, coach and mentor the technical engineering team within Plating.
- Develop, implement and manage repeatable technical processes, driving zero defect and / or RFT improvements.
- Support the operation in driving product yield improvements.
- Supply technical data and reports to the management team as required.
- Maintenance and progression of ISO 9001 2015 and product compliance.
- Liaise with suppliers, organisations, test houses, customers, and other third parties as required.
- Co-ordinate development trials and lead the evaluation of alternative plating methodologies.
- Provide support to resolve customer complaints relating to Quality.
- Implement a structured approach to training and development of the Plating team, and support the learning of wider operational / engineering teams in relation to plating.
For this role we would need you to demonstrate:
- Degree in science-based subject or evidence-based relevant experience.
- The ability to lead, empower, motivate and engage team members.
- Previous laboratory experience.
- Conversant in the use of spreadsheet and other software (ERP experience beneficial)
- Good communication skills, and the ability to relay technical information to non-technical people.
- Excellent root cause analysis skills
- Proactive and inquisitive
- Six Sigma / Lean experience.
