Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Technical Global Solutions. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the creation and implementation of mechanical designs for our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with design teams to develop mechanical designs that meet fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requirements.
- Participate in design team meetings to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
- Conduct surveys of existing installations as needed to inform design decisions.
- Generate thermal models for heating/cooling, ventilation load calculations, and utilise industry-specific software to ensure accurate designs.
- Select and size various equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers, and more.
- Formulate above-ground drainage calculations and system sizing to ensure efficient and effective designs.
- Choose domestic hot and cold-water equipment and perform necessary calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or spreadsheets to ensure accurate designs.
- Develop detailed mechanical layouts and schematics for construction, ensuring timely project delivery.
- Generate comprehensive design and survey reports to document project progress and outcomes.
- Extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering within the construction industry.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficient knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS & EN Irish, UK standards, or ASHRAE.
- Proficiency in design software like Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS is necessary.
