Clay Hill School is an independent specialist day school for young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs. We provide education for young people aged 5 to 19 years. This role will be based at Home Farm School an offsite provision of Clay Hill School focusing on children with specific ASC and SEMH needs, based in Calmore.

Person Specification:

A qualified Teacher or experienced Unqualified Teacher with a passion for working with pupils with ASC and SEMH needs, and experience of working with pupils with a range of additional needs and disabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and other professionals involved in the pupil's care. Highly organised, with excellent planning and time-management skills, and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances. A strong commitment to inclusive education, with a clear understanding of the importance of differentiation and meeting the individual needs of pupils.  A commitment to continuous professional development, and a willingness to undertake training and development to enhance knowledge and skills. A full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Teacher or experienced Unqualified Teacher, and ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN, along with the following characteristics:



Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
Organisation – You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.
Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital
