- The Head Chef will plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the schools reputation for quality is enhanced with guest and clients at all times
- Adopt a hands on approach taking responsibility for the food production within an extensive range of functions and events.
- Possess an exceptional drive for quality for all Hospitality events.
- Responsible for food safety, HS and COSHH within the hospitality kitchens.
- The Head Chef will also be required to maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate budgetary control and to monitor all costs involved in the kitchen against agreed budgets.
- Develop good commercial relationships with suppliers, ensuring receipt of service and quality levels required to obtain the highest financial return
- Ensure all daily paper / computer work is complete and that inventories and reports are completed correctly and at the right time
- Be accountable for the management and delivery of budget food subsidy, including GP & labour costs
- Proven experience in a role as Head Chef being able to demonstrate a track record of catering for large numbers but at the same time making each event individual.
- Have a ‘big personality’. Great people skills and be able to lead, develop, train and inspire your team.
- Have a real passion for food and customer service along with bags of enthusiasm.
- Food Innovation and development is essential along with being up to date with current food trends
- Ability to communicate at all levels
