Job Intro

As a LegalCounsel (remote parttime or fulltime) you will be part of the IOTAFoundations Legal & Regulatory Affairs team. You willsupport our daytoday business and develop innovative solutions tonovel legal questions. You will help to ensure the IOTA Foundationsoverall compliance with new and existing regulations and engagewith regulators and policymakers to provide legal certainty tothose who want to use the IOTAtechnology.

Responsibilities &RequirementsLegalCompliance:
  • Ensure that IOTAsoperations and technology solutions comply with relevant laws andregulations in variousjurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with internal teamsto design and implement policies and procedures to maintain legalcompliance.
  • Researching and anticipating uniquelegal issues within the Web3 space that could impact the IOTAFoundation and its Ecosystem andpartners.
Legal Certainty forUsers:
  • Work closely with externalstakeholders including businesses developers and users to providelegal guidance and certainty regarding the use of IOTAstechnology.
  • Develop educational materials andresources to enhance understanding of legal implications within theIOTA Ecosystem.
ContractualNegotiations:
  • Negotiate and draftvarious agreements including partnership agreements licensingagreements and contracts with thirdparty vendors ensuring legalprotections and compliance.
  • Advising oncontract status legal risks and the legal liabilities associatedwith different partnerships and commercialarrangements;
  • Establishing and overseeinglegally compliant employment practices and freelancerarrangements
DisputeResolution:
  • Manage legal aspects ofdisputes or conflicts that may arise seeking resolutions throughnegotiation mediation or other appropriatemeans.
  • Collaborate with external legal counselwhen necessary.
PolicyDevelopment:
  • Contribute to thedevelopment of internal policies and guidelines to align with legalrequirements and industry bestpractices.
CrossFunctionalCollaboration:
  • Collaborate withtechnical teams to understand the intricacies of IOTAs technologyand its legal implications.
  • Work closely withtechnology adoption communications and marketing teams to alignlegal strategies with organizationalgoals.
RegulatoryEngagement:
  • Monitor and analyzeregulatory developments globally providing insights andrecommendations to the organization and Associations of which IOTAis a member.
Skills &Qualifications
  • 4 years of significantexperience as legal counsel preferably within the Web3space
  • Common LawBackground
  • Masters Degree in Law and Barexam
  • Strong knowledge of global legal andregulatory landscapes related to blockchain andDLT
  • You are proactive and you feel comfortableworking in a full remote setup
  • You are a greatcommunicator and a team player
  • High level offluency in spoken and writtenEnglish
Nice tohave:
  • Familiarity with smartcontracts decentralized applications (DApps) andtokenization
  • Experience working in aninternational and crossfunctionalenvironment
  • Passion for decentralizedtechnologies
  • High level of fluency in spokenand written German
