Head Chef 

About us:

We are looking for a driven, passionate head chef to take the reigns in our kitchen. We are the place to be in the Summer and have a established seasonal trade. The Winter months are an enormous opportunity for the right candidate to really develop and elevate our food offering to drive sales and delight our guests.

The successful candidate will have a passion for ongoing career development.

Background in high volume premium fresh food business is recommended for the role.

The Chequers is a beautiful pub overlooking the river Avon on a national trust walk. We pride ourselves on using fresh British produce; all our meals are cooked freshly on-site. Whilst we are a very seasonal business and very busy over the summer period we also have a healthy trade during the off-season of local clientele and guests using the river Avon for their sporting activities. We have a large and diverse wine list with varieties from all over the world, an extensive beer and spirit collection, and bespoke cocktail menus.

What we look for in aHead Chef:

This rolerequires someone that can inspire a team, to bring out the potential and leadby example whilst being able to develop, cost and produce fresh seasonal menusfor the variety of revenue streams within the business.

Proven experience managing a seasonal high volume premium food offering. Have a genuine interest in working closely with the General Manager to smash targets and take the business to the next level through a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams Have experience championing excellent servicethrough quality food either as a Head Chef or in the position of Sous Chef Demonstrate a passion for leading and developinga team Be an active hands-on team player withexcellent communication skills Comfortable being responsible for robust labour & rota management in a seasonal business. Be able to demonstrate your creativity andability to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials Demonstrate great planning and organisationalskills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP andlabour Have a pro-active approach to driving salesand delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of houseteams
