Supply Chain Manager, AMXL EU

London, United Kingdom Amazon UK Services Ltd. - A10 Full time
Amazon’s Supply Chain Managers play a central role in our global business. They keep our complex, international supply chains working seamlessly and efficiently. As a Supply Chain Manager (SCM), you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon, from Operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to Retail teams and everything in between. You’ll help us optimise our supply chains to make our customer experience even better and our business more energy and cost efficient.

The EU AMXL Network Planning team is looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills, supply chain and/or transportation knowledge, and technology experience to join our team as a Supply Chain Manager focused on Last Mile. In this position, you will own long term last mile strategy, ranging from optimization of existing topology to defining a new strategy for demand coverage and Jurisdiction creation for Amazon delivery station planning.

Key job responsibilities
- Build volume plans for 1Y and 3Y horizons with implications to the topology of the AMXL last mile
- Work with multiple stakeholders across various supply chain functions like outbound transportation, real estate, engineering, launch, finance, operations, sales and operation planning
- Develop and implement ideas to drive continuous improvement by simplifying the process, creating additional value, and driving automation
- Identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion
- Deliver end-to-end technology and supply chain planning projects while working through the many obstacles along the way

A day in the life
Being a Supply Chain Manager for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You’ll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. You’ll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to help forecast and plan for new projects.

As a Supply Chain Manager, you’ll need to help with both on-the-ground tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. You could spend one day helping to define our supply chain and operating models and the next assisting with a site’s resource plan for a busy period.

Having so much variety in your role means you’ll be able to learn something new every day. This role is based at one of our European headquarters. There may be flexibility to choose your location or work remotely on occasion.

About the team
Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) looks after heavy items like furniture and large home appliances. Our team manages the entire service, from supply chain fulfilment to delivery and returns. What sets this service apart from others is the extra level of customer care. Not only do we deliver large items, but we unpack, assemble and install them, and take away old items where needed. With a focus on safety, productivity and innovation, we’re changing the way customers buy and receive large goods for the better.

The EU AMXL Network Planning team aims to design the best strategies for our AMXL Supply Chain and Transportation organization, resulting in executable plans impacting 1 to 3 years. This way we help to shape and bring to life the AMXL vision. We have ambitious plans to expand our capabilities and widen our scope, resulting in even more strategic decisions to support Amazon.
