Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in database evaluation, design, implementation, and optimization. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of professional experience and hold an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification. This role will involve managing and optimizing our database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and availability, as well as integrating with AWS cloud services.

 



Requirements


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Evaluation and Design:
  • Assess and analyze current database systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Design robust, scalable database architectures to support business applications.
  • Develop and document database design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Database Implementation:
  • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS).
  • Ensure the seamless integration of databases with applications and other IT infrastructure.
  • Implement security measures to protect data integrity and privacy.
Database Optimization:
  • Monitor and analyze database performance to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Optimize database queries, indexing, and schema design for enhanced performance.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
AWS Integration and Management:
  • Leverage AWS services for database management, including RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
  • Utilize AWS DevOps tools (e.g., CloudFormation, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline) for infrastructure automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch and other relevant tools.
Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and optimize database interactions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on database best practices and AWS services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in database administration, design, implementation, and optimization.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with multiple DBMS (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly in database management and DevOps.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Experience with cloud migration projects.
