About therole

JMS Midlands is a part ofthe JMS Group of companies that employ 50 staff undertaking civil& structural engineering designs and has been serving theConstruction Industry for over 25 years.

We arelooking to recruit a talented Civil Engineer to join our growingcivils team working on a variety of infrastructure projects.Working alongside colleagues within the local office as well asthose in other parts of the Group you will be encouraged to deliverhighways and infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clientsand sectors.

As part of civils team you will beinvolved from initial scheme concept through to detailed design andconstruction stages. The role offers the opportunity for the rightcandidate to develop their skills and progress their career workingas part of a team of innovative engineers andspecialists.

A competitive salary of up to 40kwill be offered commensurate with the importance of this rolewithin our company.

Responsibilities

  • Use the latest design software to create andmanage designs.
  • Liaise with key clients anddiscuss design/technical solutions with team members andstakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriatelyresourced delegating work to team members programming deliverablesand monitoring progress.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an ambitious selfmotivated and drivenexperienced Civil Engineer able to meet the following criteria:

  • Degree qualified in CivilEngineering or related discipline
  • Workingtowards professional qualifications (eg. CEng or IEng)
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in thedesign of highways and infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of the use of design toolswithin a BIM environment
  • Use of industrydesign standards i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSG etc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions tochallenges
  • Able to work and collaborate aspart of a multidisciplinary team
  • Confidentarticulate collaborative & proactive
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skillsand career with training support
  • Good timemanagement and organisational skills to efficiently manageworkload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDMregulations in addition to British standards and EUregulations.
  • Excellent spoken and writtenEnglish.
  • Full UK driving licence and awillingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMSoffices.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UKand be able to demonstrate proof whenrequested.
