We have a vacancy for a First Line Manager to join our team on the TRIPP contract. This is full-time, Temp to Perm position, working 37.5hrs per week.

Role Profile

Ensure safe working practices are adopted and observed at all times to ensure a safe working environment for everyone on site. To lead, motivate, coach and guide your team in order to maximise their performance and help them to achieve their full potential. Manage, guide and optimise the warehouse functions in order to achieve the required standards of cost, efficiency, quality and productivity in all areas. Ensuring the best possible service levels are achieved for the customer. With a strong emphasis on processes that ensure shipping on time and in full. Optimise processes through the adoption of continual improvement and LEAN ways of working.

How will you contribute?

To manage, maintain and communicate Health & Safety requirements throughout the entire operations, leading by example in order to create and maintain a safe working environment. To oversee and ensure adherence to warehouse processes whilst also ensuring these are reviewed periodically so as to ensure they are current and efficient. To protect the inventory in the warehouse through the adoption of robust security measures and strict and strict process compliance in relation to stock issues and stock movements. Ensure that all people management processes are followed . investigations, disciplinary, grievance meetings, performance management, appraisals, time recording. Monitor department and user productivity. Creating and completing plans to address any shortfalls and to drive continual improvement. To monitor, review and report on agreed operational KPI’s/SLA’s. Daily planning of colleagues against expected volume forecasts. Adapting quickly to changes. Daily planning of workflows, raising all issues that may prevent on-time, in-full shipping in a timely manner. Additional duties that line managers and directors may request from time to time that are deemed necessary and/or essential in the profitable and efficient running of the business. Prioritisation and loading of goods to agreed schedules. To suggest and implement any procedures required ensuring that the warehouse achieves the agreed levels of service. Any other reasonable request.

What will you bring?

Health & Safety management Management/Supervisory experience gained within a distribution environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong verbal and listening skills. Ability to balance between planning and meeting immediate operational needs. Proven leadership and motivational skills. Experience of continual improvement and of LEAN ways of working. Working knowledge of Warehouse Management System. People Management experience, including reviews, goal setting and disciplinary procedures.
