Are you looking for an exciting and new challenge? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people? We are seeking an experienced and accredited Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Nottinghamshire based Time 2 Talk Team on a full time, fixed term basis for one year.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner you will provide flexible, responsive, and bespoke mental health and wellbeing support to UASC young people.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Arnold, however there will also be travel across Nottinghamshire and potentially further afield depending on the needs of the service.

The successful candidate's must haves:

  • A relevant qualification (Diploma Level)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in a field relevant to Children and Young Person mental health.
  • Experience in supporting children and young people in Person Centred Therapy, Integrative, Behavioural, EMDR or Counselling.
  • An understanding of legislation and policies in relation to Safeguarding young people.
  • Experience of offering mental health support, consultation and interventions to young people.
  • Registration with a Professional Body such as BACP, HCPC, UKCP or NMC

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance on mental health issues.
  • Provide support to a young person which may involve support to attend a GP appointment or more intensive support 'bridging the gap' between Children's and Adult's Mental Health Services.
  • Provide flexible, responsive and bespoke mental health & wellbeing support to UASC young people from their arrival in Nottinghamshire, usually from the age of 14 to 25.
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures.

For the right applicant, a retention payment may be considered after completion of a satisfactory probationary period and at the end of the contract.

The suite of services under Nottingham Legacy includes Time 2 Talk, which involves Wellbeing Practitioners embedded within the Leaving Care teams of Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils. This new post working with UASC will be part of this larger team.

The UASC team support young people who may have travelled voluntarily or have been trafficked from their home country to move to the UK. Their experiences will vary greatly depending on the challenges of their journey, their reasons for leaving their home country and how they are adapting to life in the UK.
