Psychologist & Clinical Specialist for Children with Disabilities

The Emotional Health Service (EHS) is a dynamic team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapists and Creative Therapists. We have staff working in specialist posts in the integrated Service for Children with Disabilities, Social Care and Schools. We also have cluster teams at Richmond (base Twickenham) and Kingston (base Chessington).

About the role

We have 1 vacancy in our small team dedicated to supporting children with learning disabilities, their families and networks. The role is based at Moor Lane in Chessington, but the role includes travel across Kingston and Richmond to our special schools, family homes and health teams. The team are friendly, supportive and passionate about their work. You will have access to clinical supervision and be supported with training and development opportunities.

The role is varied and provides opportunities for consultation and training to professionals, clinical work in assessment, interventions and groups, ad hoc audits and service development work, supervision of trainees, assistant psychologists and qualified staff.

About you

We are looking for a Full-time Psychologist (Band 8a equivalent) to join our small team dedicated to children with learning disabilities. You will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:·

Putting children and young people first Be a Qualified Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist with appropriate professional registration with HCPC.  Be able to provide consultation and training to a wide range of professionals Have CAMHS experience in working with complex and vulnerable families Have knowledge of and experience working with children and young people with Learning Disabilities.
