A welcoming school in the Nottingham area is seeking a passionate, confident, and organised HLTA to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30/4:00 PM, term time only.

Key Criteria:
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Experience in a school or childcare setting
  • Experience or transferable skills to confidently deliver lessons and support pupils in the absence of the teacher
Job Purpose:
  • Work with children as part of a team under the overall direction of the Headteacher, who is responsible for the policy, educational programme, and discipline within the National Curriculum Framework.
  • Foster the participation of pupils in both social and academic activities by recognising individual needs and implementing appropriate responses.
  • Encourage pupils to become independent learners and help raise the standard of achievement for all.
  • Teach planned lessons to whole classes in EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 (PPA cover).
  • Develop, plan, deliver, and review learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils in line with best practises and national guidelines.
  • Carry out specified duties with individuals, groups, or classes under the direction of a qualified teacher in accordance with The Education (Specified Work & Registration) (England) Regulations 2003.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of young persons you interact with during your duties.
Key Duties:
  • Support all pupils to participate in learning activities by using effective strategies and modifying resources as necessary.
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of teaching and learning activities, sharing ideas and providing feedback.
  • Support pupils by understanding their individual needs, learning targets, and the support required, offering encouragement and feedback.
  • Lead planned sessions and activities in the absence of a teacher when needed.
  • Implement and consistently apply an effective behaviour management strategy, reinforcing positive behaviour.
  • Provide literacy and numeracy support to individuals and groups, monitoring progress and addressing challenges as they arise.
Specified Work:
  • Collaboratively plan and prepare lessons.
  • Deliver lessons to groups of pupils.
  • Assess the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
  • Provide feedback on pupils' development, progress, and attainment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
