A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work onbehalf of Yorkshire Cancer Research and SYB Cancer Alliance as a YorkshireCancer Research Cancer Champion Project Support Officer. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individualwith a flexible, patient centred and collaborative approach, able to evidencestrong communication skills and have a high level of emotional intelligence.

Responsible tothe SYB Cancer Alliance Inequalities & Early Diagnosis Project Manager, youwill play an integral role in supporting the development of the Yorkshire CancerResearch Cancer Champion Programme, implementing a programme of work to supportprimary care to maximise on opportunities presented by the NHS Long Term Plan, NetworkContract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) 2024/25 and Quality and Outcomes Framework(QOF) to deliver their responsibilities in relation to cancer early diagnosis. Thispost will work across the SYB System and have a close working relationship withGP practices and Primary Care Networks, supporting them as required.

Youwill be responsible for providing project support to the Yorkshire CancerResearch Cancer Champion Programme and associated initiatives across the CancerAlliance. Youwill have excellent communication and organisational skills and will ideallyhave experience of supporting projects within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

This postwill work across the SY Integrated Care Board and associates, including havinga close working relationship with GP practices and Primary Care Networks. The post will support the development of theYorkshire Cancer Research Cancer Champion Programme, implementing a programmeof work to support primary care to maximise on opportunities presented by theNHS Long Term Plan, Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) 2024/25and Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) to deliver their responsibilities inrelation to Cancer Early Diagnosis.

The Yorkshire Cancer Research Cancer Champion Programme is a programme thathas been rolled out across primary care in Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Doncaster,Rotherham and Sheffield. Individuals workingin primary care have been identified to champion and drive forward cancerprevention, screening and early diagnosis working across their Primary CareNetworks to deliver a number of activities encouraging the uptake of screening reducing variation across areas and helping to reduce health inequalitiesacross the region. The programme supportsthe wider ambition of the SYB Cancer Alliance to increase the number of cancersdiagnosed at stages 1 and 2 whilst also contributing to Yorkshire Cancer Researchsgoal that by 2025, at least 2,000 more people in our region survive cancerevery year.

The role will have the opportunity to lead on projects and initiativesacross the Cancer Alliance.

Job responsibilities

ProjectSupport

1. Supporting the Project Manager,Workstream/Programme Manager, working closely with all members of the CancerAlliance team, to support the Cancer Champion programmes priorities andassociated projects (including the Reward and ReferralScheme).

2.Tobe responsible for supporting delivery of the Cancer Champion programme andassociated projects through its duration.This will include:

a.Updating,monitoring and reporting of agreed project plans, action plans and projectdashboards as appropriate. Maintaining project folders, files and recordsincluding highlight reports and risk monitoring.

b.Supportthe wider SYB Cancer Alliance PMO processes.

c.Supportall programme related meetings, including any agreed task and finish groups with;minute taking, action planning and communication with meeting attendees asrequired.

d.Usingown initiative to oversee elements of the programme planning.

e.Proactivelymaintain programme documentation, ensuring documentation is managed as perCancer Alliance standards and version control is utilised when updating/sharingdocuments.

f.Coordinate,facilitate and deliver Cancer Early Diagnosis training provision (which may bevirtual or face to face within any area of South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw).

g.Supportthe external evaluation partner as appointed by Yorkshire Cancer Research.

3.Takeon leadership of specific tasks and project elements and ensure these aredelivered to time, to a high standard and within the budget.

Communicationsand key relationships

4.Managingcommunications with service user representatives in collaboration with the SYB CancerAlliance Engagement and Communications Team and as per the agreedCommunications and Engagement plan with Yorkshire Cancer Research.

5.Effectingcommunication with internal systems and external partners regarding updates,initiatives and meetings to ensure understanding of timescales, key messagesand project plan.

a.Providingcommunication updates to the Cancer Alliance Communication and Engagement Team,including e-bulletin, newsletters, social media assets and documentation forthe Cancer Alliance website.

b.Assistingin the development of presentations for internal/external communication or educationpurposes.

6.Working closely with the Programme Managers topersuade and encourage stakeholders from across the footprint to engage withthe Cancer Alliance teams work and communicate with a wide-ranging set ofinternal and external stakeholders to ensure priorities are delivered to agreedtimescales as monitored via agreed governance routes.

Data,analysis, and resources

7. Supportthe allocation of resources and funding across the Cancer Alliance in conjunctionwith the IED Programme Manager, as required.

8.SupportBusiness Intelligence as required to collect data and evaluation informationagainst defined metrics which measure impact of the Programme. Interpretation of complex information from avariety of sources to support development of programme schedules and to presentdata in an easy and logical way.

9. Support SY ICB Finance colleagues asrequired regarding Programme budget.
