We are currently looking for a Band 6 CEDS Duty Worke r to work on a Bank agreement for our Eating Disorders team in Rosanne House, Welwyn. All applicants must have previous experience in Eating Disorders
The post holder will work in close collaboration with other professionals, including the wider multi - disciplinary CEDS team (MDT) in assessing service user's needs, devising care plans and evaluating outcomes that promote service user empowerment and recovery. The post holder, with the MDT will provide high quality, individualised and evidence based eating disorder care and treatment, which addresses the needs of the service users and their families and meets individual specialist health needs.
Main duties of the job
Job Summary:
To work in collaboration with the Team Leader and duty managers, to ensure the highest standards of practice and service delivery To work as part of the Community Eating Disorder Service to deliver the services required under the National Service Framework for Mental Health To work as part of the duty team and provide day to day management of the duty inbox and cover To review all communications to the team email duty desk/ phone calls and support admin on a daily basis To prioritise and support on duty task, responding to email, telephone, and face to face presentation to the duty service. Including triaging and discussing referrals with the Duty manager To ensure that risks relating to service users, unmet needs is discussed with duty manager To ensure quality care standards and procedures which support the aims of Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Trust and the ethos of the Recovery Approach To attend Referral Review Meetings to present and discuss new referrals and follow up with recommendations made by RRM. To maintain the Duty Worker's own professional registration and development To effectively support all aspects of the Duty team To act for or on behalf of the Duty Manager as required from time to time in accordance with local agreements. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring good communication with other team members, giving and receiving support and dealing with any issues that inhibit excellence in patient care that occur with colleagues. Clinical responsibility is at the level of assisting professionals and feeding back observations.
To participate in the assessment of patients needs in conjunction with qualified staff, in relation to their physical as well as their mental health. To support patients in their recovery To participate and lead in groups delivered by the team as required. To have or attain a good knowledge of best practice in working with adults with an eating disorder. To assist in the planning and development of programmes of careCommunication requirements
To contribute to multi-disciplinary team discussions, case conferences and reviews. To keep accurate and up to date written records of all patient contact by inputting data on the Trust records system. To provide telephone and in person support to patients and occasionally their families/carers. To support qualified staff in the ongoing assessment of the patients needs through accurate reporting of interventions and observations. To pass on relevant verbal and written messages as appropriate. To attend and participate in team meetings, supervision, reflective practice, appraisals and other meetings as required. To report and document incidents, concerns and complaints to the Team Leader or nominated deputy on duty as set out in Trust policy. To liaise with and maintain good working relationships with other professionals, community mental health workers, GPs, social care teams, inpatient areas etc To act as a link to other agencies when required. To prepare for and attend supervision with supervisor on a regular basis. To attend training courses as agreed with the Team Leader via supervisory and appraisal processes. To use supervision and informal support from colleagues to manage the emotional and mental demands of the work. Person Specification
