Pay £12.90 per hour £83.85 per day

We are working with a local primary school to find individuals with an interest in working with children with additional needs. The role can be both on a part and full time capacity depending on needs of the pupil and the times of days that need assisting, consistency within these hours is vital as the pupils require consistency as a change to this can be detrimental to the pupils development in school.

Experience with Autism is essential; however, this can be in either a personal or professional capacity. A successful candidate will need to have the ability to quickly build rapport with both colleagues and pupils as you may be joining the role mid-term. I am interested in hearing from anyone with experience working with additional needs whether education or a care background. Throughout the vetting process we will require candidates to be timely and have the correct documents ready to ensure onboarding can be as efficient as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring pupils are engaging in all sessions.
  • Assist in personal care tasks as an when if needed
  • To plan and implement appropriate techniques to deal with challenging behaviour in pupils where appropriate.
  • To take part in relevant training and courses as required.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS and registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Understands the development needs of children and those with disability/challenging behaviour.
