Overall purpose of the role:

Barclays has a leading franchise in the provision of loan origination, syndication and execution financing and services as well as providing important liquidity and market making to the secondary market through its global loan trading business. The loan businesses have grown significantly over the last few years and are continuing to invest in building a world-class platform and infrastructure to support further growth going forward. 

Wholesale Lending Operations services all operational aspects of several billion pounds worth of commercial loans denominated in a variety of different currencies. Loans are an essential part of corporate financing. Corporate loans can range from acquisition/ trade financing to revolving facilities which aid short/ medium term cash flows as well as unsecured term loans and asset based financing. Wholesale Lending is growing significantly in two critical strategic markets; Administrative Agency and Commercial Loan Syndications, and Commercial Loan Trading. This growth is adding to the complexity and risk management demands on control, reconciliation, and balance sheet review and affirmation requirements.

The Loan Servicing Analyst role is critical to supporting the business growth, managing the risk and the control environment, developing the operating model, and facilitating change to build an effective and scalable platform to support the businesses. Supervise and build processes and controls that manage reconciliation and balance sheet control risk instituting the right practices and process to ensure accurate reporting and corrective actions specific to the accounting and regulatory requirements across all Regions. Support the design of an operating model that will provide both a scalable and well managed support structure for anticipated volume and complexity growth, and working closely with key Stakeholders as requirements change.

Previous Loan IQ knowledge and experience is essential. The team is currently undergoing migration activities from one platform to another. By supporting within this team you will be aiding them to get ahead of the migrations.


Key Accountabilities: 

Support a set of control processes for reconciliations and KPIs. Deliver appropriate reporting and oversight to include variance analysis and corrective actions.

Provide support for internal oversight groups that report and attest on reconciliations and controls. Create strong partnerships and support internal audits and external regulatory deliverables.

Work with Line Operations partners for analysis and resolution of transactions that create control gaps and reconciliation breaks. Partner to institute sustainable practices for continuous improvement.

Work towards using technology and changing practices to proactively avoid control and reconciliation issues and be able to quickly identify cause of variance and critical areas of risk.

Work within a broad set of control and recon tasks, working directly with internal stakeholders independently representing the team and its responsibilities.

Utilise key risk indicators rigour to ensure function is driving excellence in its risk management performance, including but not limited to commentary in line with group standards with root causes understood and associated change management led to remediate.


Key Skills: 

Lending and Loans 

Loan IQ experience is required 

Proven Loan Servicing / Wholesale Loans / Wholesale Agency Lending / Wholesale Lending experience

Experienced in Agency Servicing or Participant or Bilateral Loans
