We are looking for an Oracle/SQL Database Administrator Team Lead who would like to be a part of the journey

What can you expect from this role?

Joining our Platform Engineering team, you will play a key role in leading our UK DBA operational team for Oracle and SQL database management, ensuring that we provide stable, optimal environments, comprising Database and Application Server, to support our product development teams and customers on mainly Cloud Systems and some client provided infrastructure.

This role will be a champion of process and methodology and be responsible for implementation of new methodologies and standards, applicable to Database Administration.

Some of the key responsibilities for this role will include;

Monitoring, Incident and Problem Management Administering and maintaining the Oracle and SQL database tier of managed environments for optimal performance, security and reliability. Installation and Upgrades: Lead the technical activities for upgrading and installing application and platform components on existing or new infrastructure Ensuring that Product releases are stable and all change management, upgrade and other relevant processes are clearly documented Managing and guiding other Cloud Services DBA staff in the use of operational procedures and review Ongoing monitoring, administration and problem management with focus on the Oracle databases to result in stable environments. Ensuring that all installations, upgrades and change approaches are clearly defined, configured and documented and successfully delivered to time and specification Enabling us to move forward with new tooling and best practice 

The Person

Within this role it is therefore essential that applicants have strong proven records operating as a DBA in an enterprise environment, with an excellent practical understanding of Oracle.

Further technical requirements include;

Very strong working knowledge of database and application server low level architecture Extensive experience of having worked in a DBA role in an enterprise environment Proficiency in Unix/Linux/Windows Operating System administrative utilities Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) Proficiency in optimisation including indexing and best practice re Oracle queries Experience in Operating System shell scripting would be beneficial Proficiency with database backup technologies Extensive demonstrable technical operational experience in an enterprise environment Working knowledge of Cloud toolsets for performance management, monitoring, logging and deployment (Redgate in particular)  Knowledge or experience of SITS would be beneficial, but not essential

Please Note: This role falls within the scope of Tribal's On Call and Out of Hours Working policy. Regular out of hours working may therefore be required to fulfil the requirements of the role, and this will be compensated in line with the policy.
