Opportunities have arisen for Practitioners across our Barnet Walk in Services. The main base will be:
Edgware Walk in centre, Edgware Community Hospital, Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware HA8 0AD With some expectation of occasional cross cover with our other Barnet Walk in centre at Finchley Memorial Hospital, N12 0JEThis is an exciting time to join our Nurse/ Clinical Practitioner Led Walk in service that delivers high quality unscheduled care. The post requires the applicant to be competent in autonomously treating adults and children with injury and illness conditions and emergencies. Level 7 injury and illness courses are essential with competence in advanced physical assessment.

Job responsibilities
Edgware Walk in Centre delivers high quality evidence-based care to patients attending with injuries and undifferentiated health problems. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously as a Nurse/ Clinical Practitioner delivering care to our patients. Utilising expert diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning to provide autonomous, unscheduled care for patients presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions (most commonly minor injuries and ailments although some patients attending may present with complex health needs and / or acute on chronic conditions). The post holder will deliver care in collaboration with Emergency services, other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies. To work in association with colleagues, including doctors and trainee ACPs, in defining standards of care and practice aimed at maintaining, developing or improving quality. To work in collaboration with our other CLCH walk in centres, including occasional cross cover to other sites. To work with the senior staff in the operational management and the organisational development of the service. Act as the Shift Leader on a rotational basis assuming responsibility for day-to-day management of the service. Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice. Communicate highly complex and sensitive information to patients, carers and other staff. Deliver care within a culturally sensitive framework. Essential
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or Registered Health Professional (physio, paramedic) with HCPC. Evidence of continued professional development.
Desirable
Evidence of continuing professional education and training at Masters level in an Advanced Clinical Practitioner program or willingness to work towards an MSc in Advanced Practice. Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete) Qualification in prehospital care or community care Qualification in teaching or practice-based learning. Experience

Proven experience of utilising expert diagnostic and clinical skills to provide autonomous, unscheduled medical care and management of patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions. Proven experience in assessing, managing and treating minor injuries and minor illnesses Experience of effectively working in collaboration, negotiating and liaising across organisational boundaries. Experience in monitoring clinical standards. Proven ability to prioritise and manage own workload with minimal supervision. Experience caring for patients of all age ranges. Minimum of five years' experience in either emergency/ unscheduled care or a primary care environment
