Climate Change Risk Specialist

As a Climate Change Risk Specialist, you will be working as part of a team of experienced catastrophe modellers, risk specialists, scientists and actuaries within the Risk Management function at AXA XL. The primary focus of the role is to advance our work assessing the risks from Climate Change Litigation, Transition and the Physical Risk because of Climate Change, with the goal of fully embedding Climate Change analysisinto the Risk Management function.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

·Lead the work on Climate Change Litigation Risk assessment by identifying and developing new scenarios, whilst enhancing the current scenarios and risk framework. Responsible for performing scenario analysis, interpreting results and communicating to key stakeholders.

·Lead the work on Climate Transition Risk by enhancing existing tools, extending the model across all relevant Lines of Business, interpreting results and communicating to key stakeholders.

·Support work on Climate Change Physical Risk, working with risk stakeholders across AXA XL to enhancethe reporting of the impacts of Climate Change, validating analysis, interpreting results and communicating to key stakeholders.

·Support the project of embedding ‘Climate Change’ into the Risk Management framework by providing targeted help across all risk pillars.

·Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging expertise to enhance the risk assessments. Provide a robust communication of findings both internally and externally.

·Ensure that regulatory requirements are met and delivered accurately and timely.

You will report to the Head of Reporting, Casualty & Cyber Risk Management.

We’re looking for someone with experience in a Risk Management role or similar.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

·Knowledge of Insurance and Risk Management practices

·Demonstrable experience in managing projects and multi-tasking to achieve various deliverables

·Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

·Programming experience (SQL, R, Python etc.) would be beneficial

·Ability to collaborate with audiences with a wide range of technical knowledge and at different levels in an organizational hierarchy

·A self-motivated problem solver with a great attention to detail and ability to work independently

·A highly organized individual with a proven track of working under time pressure

·Team player with a proven ability to partner with business colleagues and manage key relationships

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with and present to senior leaders

·Willingness to undertake projects in fields outside area of direct expertise
