Your Role EF Bristol has an exciting opportunity for a responsible and energetic individual to support the Residence Team during the summer season. Your mission: ensure international students have a memorable and safe living environment throughout the summer. This role is a 4-12 week position running throughout June, July and August 2024, on a fixed term contract and with permanent opportunities available afterwards. This is a live in position with accommodation provided.Responsibilities Meeting and greeting new students on arrival and informing them of rules Assisting with checking in & taking students to rooms Maintain safe and comfortable environment by taking appropriate action in the event of student misconduct, addressing concerns with relevant school staff Undertake provided basic first aid training and be ready to give appropriate assistance where required or contact medical/emergency services where necessary Ensure standards of rooms and quality of services are maintained by conducting weekly building and room checks using provided tool/form Carry out nightly curfew checks for under 18s on rotation Assisting students with problems and queries Manage and report welfare issues relating to students in residence Take responsibility for fire safety and familiarise self with evacuation procedures Ensuring that residence rules are being adhered to and report all issues to residence manager Participate in regular emergency phone duty as per rota Promote and run activities for residence students Reminding departing students of leaving date & procedures Requirements Given the on call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to nature & hours of work undertaken is essential Highly motivated, energetic, positive Customer service orientated, friendly & approachable manner Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations Sensitive to needs of international students living away from home Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients Attention to detail, organised & thorough Clear DBS check and two references Right to work in the UK Why you will love EF Bristol Continuous professional development for all staff Work in a truly international environment Regular social events Ambition is nurtured and fast-tracked career enhancement opportunities are provided Staff are encouraged to innovate, take ownership of their ideas and bring them to fruition Global career opportunities External trainings on safeguarding and mental health first aid Accommodation provided Campus based in centre of Bristol (Queen Square) Testimonies ‘‘Able to meet and work with a large number of interesting people from different cultures’’ ‘‘I worked with some amazing people at EF and made friends for life’’ “I really appreciated being given the responsibility of looking after students while they were in a different country far from home.” ‘’You are encouraged to take on as many challenges as possible, which helps you progress as a professional.’’ ‘’Excellence in customer service - lovely staff and good training.’’
