Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Halton Intermediate Care and Frailty Service as a Senior therapy assistant. The Post Holder will be part working across Halton and providing Therapy intervention in a variety of settings -

Single Point of Access Community Rapid Response / Frailty Team Reablement Team Intermediate Care Unit

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Therapy Assistant, you will be based with a multidisciplinary Therapy team to provide Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy interventions in a variety of inpatient and community settings. You will receive competency-based training in both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Following this you will continue to receive support from our Therapy team to enable you to deliver high quality therapy interventions to the best of your ability.

The successful applicant will have previous experience working in a healthcare environment and must be a good team worker, flexible, empathetic, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other members of the multi-disciplinary teams.

To carry out duties supervised by the therapist which includes:

implementing treatment programmes devised by the qualified therapist following assessment. To assist in general administration, clerical and housekeeping duties relating to the area of work.

Qualifications

Equal to NVQ level 2

NVQ Level 3 or working towards

Experience

Experience in caring role Experience with patients Demonstrate understanding of independence and dignity

Experience working within therapy setting Worked in elderly care / frailty

Good Communication Skills Understanding of therapy assistant role IT, written and numerical skills Able to work in isolation

Experience using patient record systems Knowledge of frailty / ageing Willingness to undertake further training

Experience of patient manual handling techniques Able to support multiple daily activities and patient contacts Able to move equipment around clinical areas
