About the Role: As the Head of Childcare Services, you will be the cornerstone of our childcare operations, providing leadership and vision across nursery, junior activities, and baby-gym/crèche. You will ensure the highest standards of care, education, and safety, fostering an environment where children thrive and families feel supported.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Families:
- Set and uphold the highest standards of childcare practice across all services.
- Promote our diverse range of services in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Design and implement engaging events and communications to attract and retain families.
- Address and resolve parent complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
Education:
- Oversee curriculum delivery and the quality of teaching and learning.
- Ensure compliance with the Early Years Framework and statutory educational requirements.
- Lead team training and professional development to align with educational advancements.
People Management:
- Handle all HR functions including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Develop and support your team through continuous professional development (CPD) and effective communication.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within your team and across the organization.
Operations:
- Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with OFSTED and Health & Safety standards.
- Act as the department’s consultant on Special Educational Needs Coordination (SENCO).
- Lead operational processes and ensure the highest quality environment for childcare.
Finance:
- Manage departmental budgets, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Set and monitor team targets to drive occupancy and profitability.
- Optimize financial efficiency and adopt best practices from industry leaders.
Cultural Leadership:
- Embrace and promote company values and culture.
- Create an exceptional work environment and strive for outstanding customer satisfaction.
- Drive growth and innovation, contributing to the overall success of the business.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achieve top standards in inspection reports.
- Increase occupancy and profitability of the Nursery.
- Expand the 6-16-year-old category.
- Improve staff retention and reduce recruitment costs.
- Develop and implement business cases for new projects.
- Monitor and enhance employee Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Qualifications:
- Childcare Level 3 qualification or above.
- Strong ICT knowledge and understanding.
- Proven experience in managing and leading childcare services.
