You will be working closely with the Multidisciplinary team to ensure that the right care and intervention is given to the CYP. Ideally, you would be a registered mental health nurse with NMC registration. If you have any CAMHS experience would be an advantage, but not essential as we will provide support and relevant training.

Main duties of the job

The post holder would be required to carry a reasonable amount of caseload. You will be supporting the CYP by coordinating their care and attending professionals meeting.

The post holder would provide supervision to their junior colleague and support student on placement.

The post holder would be required to carry out Duty role where necessary and provide support to the wider team. The post holder is expected to be a good team player.

We expect the post holder to have the right and transferable skills to carry out their role as a key worker. These skills should include: communication and listening skills, analytical and ability to make clinical judgment.

About us

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 pro rata for part time).

Job responsibilities

The post holder would be working closely with the CAMHS In-House team and other colleagues from the wider Targeted service. You would be expected to work with other external agencies such as GP's, schools, and social services.

The post holder would be working within the pathway and will be responsible of managing their own caseload. As a Key Worker, you are expected to support the CYP and their families.
