Clinical Lead for CYP Integration

London, United Kingdom NHS England Full time

Job summary

The Children and Young People's Transformation Programme was established in 2019 to oversee the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan commitments for children and young people (CYP).

More recently, the government set out its ambition to raise the healthiest generation of children in our history. To achieve this ambition we need to make substantial changes to the services children use to improve children's health outcomes.

Once such change is to shift the NHS to a model where more services are delivered in local communities, integrating health and care services to improve the treatment patients receive with more care delivered outside hospitals.

The CYP Transformation Programme are developing plans to implement Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) for CYP which will embed specialist paediatric expertise into primary and community settings, integrating with wider health, care and education through multi-disciplinary teams.

The programme works closely with the Royal College for Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Clinical Lead for Integration to provide expert clinical advice to the programme and specifically support the development of integrated neighbourhood teams for CYP.

The postholder will work closely with the CYP Transformation Programme team, NHS England National Clinical Directors and Medical Directors to provide clinical advice and leadership including:

Clinical advice and leadership to drive transformation of services for patients and implementation of INTs for CYP. Clinical advice to support the commissioning of services; and Clinical advice on ad hoc issues to support parliamentary accountability.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership and advice to support the programme SRO, National Clinical Director and work with the National Speciality Advisors in the successful delivery of the INTs for CYP programme. This includes influencing policy development and implementation, securing key stakeholder buy-in, promoting the NHS and acting as a spokesperson for NHS England.

The clinical lead for Integration will provide input into other clinical leads across the organisation in their specialty ( GIRFT leads, CRG chairs) to ensure all parts of the organisation are pulling in the same direction.

Contractual arrangements:

FTC/Secondment until 31 March 25 with the possibility of extension Part time / FTE / 1 PA per week
