This post holder will play a key role within the Compliance & Regulation Team at CareTech. You will have key responsibility for a range of areas including;

Manage and maintain an effective framework of policies and procedures which are up to date, effective and meet legislative, regulatory and operational requirements.

Oversight of sector-related policy, regulation and legislation implications for the organisation.
Management of policy platform Resume.
In conjunction with operational colleagues, driving forward a culture of learning and continuous improvement and supporting the prioritisation of improvement support to front line services.

As a member of the C&R Team for CareTech you will play a key role in supporting our operational divisions (adults) in their delivery of excellent care.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of adult services operational policy and procedure framework and platform(s)
  • Develop process maps to support the implementation and application of company policies and procedures.
  • Support with the launch and implementation of policies through presentations/briefings/workshops/communication and/or attendance at departmental meetings
  • Keep abreast of developments within the sector which could inform policy and practice.
  • Manage the hosting platform site(s) for policies - ensuring the policy and policy documents are readily available across all relevant departments.
  • Review and analyse regulatory inspection reports to identify themes to inform policy and procedural review.
  • Undertake research and provide background briefings and information for key internal and external stakeholders and meetings.
  • Source and collate policy-related information used for media and legal inquiries
  • Monitor policy, legislative and other developments relevant to our regulated environment and identify implications for the organisation.
  • Schedule and administer key meetings ensuring agendas, reports and actions are prepared and disseminated accordingly. 
  • Supervise, coach and support and motivate staff in implementing policies.
  • Write, and support the production of policies, guidance, briefings, consultation materials to website and intranet and other documents as required.
  • Develop and implement processes to review and analyse organisational and operational knowledge and understanding of policy and procedure.
  • Work with Compliance & Regulation team members and other colleagues to ensure policy-related initiatives are embedded operationally and remain strong for the duration required.
  • Attend key meetings as directed and take minutes/actions where necessary.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the post.

Person Specification

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of development and implementation of sector policy and guidance.
  • Proven track record of and ability to work within a policy, public affairs or regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic policy through robust analysis and research.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current compliance and regulatory obligations across social care, and a knowledge of relevant policy, legislation, sector standards and guidance.
  • Proven sphere of influence with senior sector stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and inspection frameworks.
  • Experience of working within large and diverse organisations.
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
  • Professional presentation and workshop leadership/facilitation skills.
  • Applicable knowledge of window-based software packages.

Desirable

  • A relevant professional qualification and/or registration
  • Educated to degree Level
  • Experience in effective project management and delivery, delivering to time, cost and quality constraints.
